I understand that as you get older you want your costumes to look a little more sophisticated and not so childish, but there are so many things wrong with the above photos. To save time though I'll just point out two quick things that I notice immediately:
One, why are the tween costumes so revealing and so close to the "adult" costumes? They're not even teens yet, tween is defined by the dictionary as people between the ages of eight to fourteen; yes as young as eight years old! I didn't even develop until I was thirteen at least and even then it wasn't much development towards being a "woman".
Second, notice a theme in the adult costumes? Low cut tops that accentuate the breasts, short skirts that are at most mid-thigh length, thigh-high stockings or boots, and heels. Why do the adult costumes have to be so revealing?
Yes it might be "sexy" but why does sexy have to meant scantily clad? I mean, if you want to wear these costumes then great! Go for it! But they shouldn't be the only choices for us and from personal experience, these "sexy" costumes seem to be the only thing you can find.
Also why are all the models have huge breasts, slim thighs, and a small waist; it's incredibly unrealistic for the average woman and just holds true the "female standard" of good looking.
And for the guys out there, this isn't just a female problem. Males have the same issues with their costumes (the next post will be for guys).
